As the end 2017 draws closer, my 100 day project continues. So far, I am doing well at making my commitments and am on Day 3 of Whole 30. Now that I have added W30, managing the countdown for both projects is giving me the most heartburn. Really, I haven’t run into any bumps yet, and am feeling pretty good. Yesterday I had my first ever whole body massage. It was heaven! I think I am going to plan on having one at least once a month from now on. It is a wonderful way to keep healthy and spoil myself at the same time.
I have been reading a lot, and need to comment on one of the best autobiographies I have read in a long time. Believe Me: A Memoir of Love, Death and Jazz Chickens, by Eddie Izzard is not only entertaining, it is inspiring. Izzard is one of those people who have overcome obstacles without realizing there are obstacles. He just decides to do something and makes it happen. In his blog about the book, Bill Gates describes Izzard as having a “growth mindset” that is, the kind of thinking that one is not limited by by basic abilities and intelligence which is a fixed, instead one can grow and achieve through hard work and belief that they can. He tackles things head-on that are difficult and even scary for him, like learning how to fly planes ,and is relentless in completing what he starts. He reports on what he has done in a pragmatic and very down to earth way. Not only that, he is very likable, entertaining, and makes no excuses about who he is. I highly recommend the book.
My Sixties Project is all about me (LOL) and doing things that will make my 60s better. Not just better for me, but better for those around me. I am still learning and working on that!
