Last night I came down with a bad case of hives. They really threw me off my game. I am not sure where they came from or what caused them, but my backside and legs were covered, my lips swelled up, and worst of all my ear lobes puffed up and were itchy. I took a little Benadryl, then more Benadryl and as I write this, they seem to be under control.
Those were the symptoms and I survived What I learned from the experience is I need to take care of myself. I had to go to work because I had a couple of appointments in the morning and a major presentation in the afternoon. I made it through, then went home early and took more Benadryl. Taking care of myself is probably the only way I am going to make it through this last year before retirement. Who knows, my hives may have been caused by stress. What I need to do is make sure and put everything in perspective and most of all keep calm.
And while this picture does not represent my hives, it does speak to the busyness of another type of hive. I need to remember to slow down, my list of my things to do will remain, no one is cut, no one is bleeding, and we will all live to see another day. Just another bump in the road.
