Obscure Sorrows

In today’s Tim Ferris Five Bullet Friday, he shared the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows a new web series by John Koenig. It is amazingly beautiful. Here is the YouTube link to All Episodes – Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows.

Ferris shared the the video of Sonder – The Realization That Everyone Has a Story. the word, the definition and the video brought me to the realization that I am often so wrapped up in myself that I forget others. Honestly, this really wasn’t a realization as much as a slap on the face. I forget or don’t even acknowledge the hopes, fears, strengths, weaknesses, desires, and all the other emotions, attributes that make the people that surround me who they are.

As I viewed this series, I it reinforces that even though I need to be aware of and advocate for myself, I am not the most important person, the world does not revolve around me, I am part of something, not the ‘something’. My hope is to become more aware, kinder, and more in touch with the world.

Reading: The Death of Mrs Westaway by Ruth Ware – dark mystery, love. love, love this genre.

Listening To: Soundtrack from A Star is Born (with dialogue.) I loved the movie and am loving the music especially the songs that didn’t make it into the movie or blended into the background

For Myself: Tried a new yoga class this morning – ZFlow. Lots of deep postures. Felt so good to move, feel, and meditate at the beginning of my day.
